Catherine McKinstry,
retired English teacher
-A retired middle school English teacher who later taught at Southington High School has died.

Catherine McKinstry died yesterday at the Hospital of Central Connecticut at New Britain General at the age of 59.

Mrs. McKinstry was an English and reading teacher at John F. Kennedy Middle School until she joined the faculty of Southington High a few years before her retirement. She was married for 31 years to William McKinstry, a retired Social Studies teacher who taught for many years across the hall from his wife at JFK.

A certified Yoga Alliance instructor, Mrs. McKinstry taught courses for both the Southington and Farmington adult education programs. She also was a legal secretary.
