Did you know...
-
There are two former Southington High School teachers running on the Republican ticket in this year's election?

Cheryl Lounsbury (left), a former English teacher who served on the Town Council in the 1980s and early '90s, was tapped to replace outgoing councilor William DellaVecchia in August and she is seeking a full term in the November election. She returned to the council in 2003 but was not re-elected in 2005. Meanwhile, Terri Carmody (right), who retired from the SHS Social Studies Department in June, is seeking a seat on the Board of Education. Her son, John Carmody, a current member of the Planning & Zoning Commission, is running for the Town Council. And no, these are not meant as endorsements!
