Q: I graduated in 1971 - yes, 36 years ago! - and wonder who from the SHS teaching staff is still around from when I was there. -James

A: First, to make you feel better, 36 years isn't that long ago. Despite that you graduated from the "old" Southington High down on Main Street, you aren't old enough that all the teachers and faculty from your era are long retired. But it might not offer much comfort that there's only one who remains teaching. Carole Alberti, chairwoman of the English Department, who we hear plans to retire at the end of the current school year, began her career at SHS in the fall of 1968.
