Busa, a physical education teacher at the time, was the first coach of the girls' basketball team in the mid-1970s. She was succeeded by Joe Daddio. Busa, who became the PE department chairperson and left SHS in 2000 to become an assistant principal at Sheehan High School in Wallingford, retired in 2007. From late '07 to early 2008, she was the interim athletic director at SHS while the school board sought a replacement for retired AD Bob Lehr.
