Q: You answered a few weeks back a question about the longest-serving teacher at SHS (Carole Alberti). But who else from that era is still around, say from the early to mid-1970s when I graduated? ---Rick
-
A: It seems retirement has beckoned dozens from the SHS teaching staff in the last several years, but people you may remember like John Ellsworth (Industrial Arts), Dave Germano, former IA teacher and department chairman and current assistant principal, English teacher Dorothy Harrington (seen in photo at right) and Dawne Naples, a former English teacher now a guidance counselor, can still be found heading up to 720 Pleasant Street every day.

Just saw Dave Germano at the gorcery store. Still looks great for his age! I have fond memories of IA class. He was a great teacher. The kids at SHS today will never know how great it was to have that core group of teachers, where everyone knew everyone else. Not the way it is today, at all.
Wow. Ms. Harrington was cute 35 years ago!!
Great teacher. One of the "real" ones.
