Crash victim was 1998 SHS graduate

The man killed in a motor vehicle collision on West Street last week graduated from Southington High School 11 years ago.

Jared C. Treiber, 28, of 740 Prospect St., Plantsville, died on Thursday when his car struck a van being driven by a Burlington man near the West Queen Street intersection. Police are investigating the incident.

Mr. Treiber was the son of Nancy (Reynolds) Treiber and the late Jonathan Treiber. He was a 1998 graduate of Southington High School and graduated from Boston College in 2002. He had been employed by the Grist Mill Restaurant in Farmington. Besides his mother he is survived by a brother, Geoffrey Treiber of Plantsville, and other relatives.

Calling hours are tomorrow (Monday) at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery.
