The 41st Annual Apple Harvest Festival kicks off this weekend. So we want to know what your favorite high school memories of the festival are. Did you march in the parade led by Mr. Gozzo or Mr. Shaw? Ride in a car or on a float as a member of FBLA, DECA, FFA or other clubs? Did you work a booth? Were you a hostess or the festival queen? I never directly participated as a club member but my favorite memories are of the intense pride I felt when the marching band would make its way down the street. Blue and white. Amazing sound. My school! My town! I still get a little choked up after all these years!
Battle of the Bands was always cool. And getting up early to watch the balloons take off from behind Central Elementary.
Hanging out with the hostesses, who were the center of attention!
Getting drunk on Jack Daniels & Apple Cider...Apple Jacks!
Great food (Apple Fritters, of course) and hanging out with friends. Check out more info at http://www.ItsOurTown.net and upload info, photos and more about Southington and the Apple Harvest, and much more too.
