Chambers collaborating
on 'Apple Classic' luncheon

The Southington and Cheshire chambers of commerce are in the planning stages of a luncheon slated for next month that will celebrate the “Apple Classic,” the Thanksgiving Day football game played annual between the town’s two high school teams.

Southington chamber president Art Secondo tells The Southington Observer this week that the luncheon is tentatively scheduled for noon on Wed., Nov. 14, at Yellowfin’s Seafood Grille on South Main Street in Cheshire. According to Secondo, the two chambers have discussed awarding the winning team each Thanksgiving with a trophy on behalf of both organizations.
