Victoria Triano, a member of the Southington High Class of 1967, holds the record as the longest-serving female on the Southington Town Council?

Triano, who was awarded the UNICO Gold Medal of Honor earlier this year, was first elected to the council in 1991. When she stepped down in 2007, her eight terms were the longest of any female in the 41-year history of the council. The runner up? Former SHS English teacher Cheryl Lounsbury, who was a town councilor from 1981 to 1991, 2003 to 2005 and a portion of 2007, six terms.

Funny how the women on the Town Council have a school connection...Lounsbury, former SHS teacher...Fran D'Angelo, first woman councilperson, was a teacher and SHS asst. principal...Ann Dandrow came from the Board of Education...Mary Baker was related to the legendary Normadiene England, principal of Milldale School...
